The Curvy Industry Experience has arrived! We’ve been waiting for something like this to come to the DFW and Kristen Mushatt, who is the founder and CEO of Vanity Curves, delivered! TCIE was created to provide “invaluable knowledge, training and experiences from expert professionals of the plus industry in all areas of the business.” I had the honor of attending the Kick-Off Mixer and I met some wonderful people! It was a fun, inviting atmosphere with amazing women doing amazing things in the plus size industry.
The Kick-Off Mixer was a great experience to mingle and network with people in the plus size industry in all areas. It was held at the NYLO Dallas/Las Colinas hotel. I was accompanied by the lovely Jordan Brady! And..we didn’t match on purpose! Jordan is wearing a lace maxi dress from Torrid. I’m wearing a strapless midi dress from Boohoo. lol We enjoyed tasty food, bomb drinks and a special red carpet to take lots of pictures. The NYLO Dallas/Las Colinas hotel was beautiful!! Once inside, we took photos on the red carpet. We were led outside to a gorgeous pool area, and met the other beautiful ladies in the DFW.
Lace Maxi- Torrid, Strapless Midi- Boohoo
I wanted to go to this event because I wanted to see who was in Dallas. There are not many events that take place in DFW dedicated to plus size fashion or the plus size industry. I was able to meet some amazing women doing amazing things. I went to Curvycon in New York this summer and it was amazing! I just don’t want to have to travel to other cities for events like this, which is why I’m glad Kristen decided to create this experience for us. Some of the attendees included plus size model Christina Mendez, FFF Week founder Gwen DeVoe, Blogger LaShai Braziel, Miss Texas Plus America Shannon Simmons, IRadio Personality Mardi Hunter and many more others.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend the workshop and panel the following day. Gwen Devoe, Christina Mendez, Lisa Scott, and Chenese Lewis led the workshop and panel. They discussed navigating through the plus industry and jumpstarting a career as a plus size model. This would be very vital information if you’re wanting to get into the plus size industry.
